Essay 2: War of the Worlds Outline and Annotated Bibliography Essay Outline and Annotated Bibliography (Use attached form): Submit an outline of your essay using the Expository Essay Outline attached. Your outline MUST use complete sentences and the outline must contain at least three (3) of your five (5) internal citations. You must use at least five (5) references and include your references as an MLA Works Cited entry (see template). Your Annotated Bibliography is the last page of your outline. It should contain your five (5) references in MLA format and a 6-12 sentence annotation (description) for each of the five (5) resources. The sample shows one (1) example of the Annotated Bibliography. Your outline must contain five (5). It should also contain at least three (3) intext citation examples from your references. Your references MUST include at LEAST one (1) website, one (1) scholarly article and one (1) video or audio recording. Your Outline with Bibliography must be submitted as a Word file. Review the requirements for the final essay. Final Essay Requirements: Essay 2: War of the Worlds A theme of H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds is the inhumanity of imperialism coupled with the horrors of war. Wells uses his novel to site the commonalities between the Martian attack and destruction of the Earth and its inhabitants and Britain’s ruthless expansion and acquisition of territory and brutal treatment of the inhabitants, nearly eliminating the native people in some of its colonies. Construct a compare/contrast essay to demonstrate the commonalities and/or differences between the Martian invasion and British imperialism. Incorporate specific examples from the novel of the horrors of war. Use quotations and excerpts from the novel to support and clarify and demonstrate your findings. Avoid writing in the first person. View the comparison and contrast essay Powerpoint in the course files. Your essay must be a minimum of 1,000 words, five (5) paragraphs and three (3) to five (5) typed pages. You must use MLA template, have at least five (5) references (do not use Wikipedia). Your essay must have at least five (5) internal citations.
