Portfolio Essay – (20%) ONCE over the term students must submit ONE (1) portfolio essay: a polished version that substantially rewrites and extends one of the draft exercises submitted as part of a portfolio. Students may submit this portfolio essay at the time of either the first or second portfolio submission. The portfolio essay will be approximately 1200 words, may employ academic research sources, and should represent the student’s very best work. Wherever a student employs external sources, I expect to see correct documentation, employing both in-text citations and a properly formatted list of references. I will grade this assignment using letter grades (alongside the corresponding numerical equivalent), and when assessing the essay, we will consider the student’s ability to respond to the question with a logically coherent and fluently expressed argument that is fully supported by evidence drawn from appropriate texts.
