While we dont get to do a deep dive into personal branding in this course, I think it is extremely important that all students see themselves as professionals, even as Freshman. If you are able to begin the process of creating your personal brand as a professional while youre a student, you will be so much better off when you enter the job search.
The best way to begin this process is with self-assessment and reflection which is why I had you complete the personality test. Now, Im going to challenge you to think hard and answer the following question:
Imagine you are being interviewed for your dream job and the interviewer asks you the following:
Think about someone who knows you well like a friend youve known since childhood. You have had a major falling out, and this person no longer likes you (at all). What are three words that individual might use to describe you? Be honest!
Now, with those three words in mind, I want you to edit or spin those words so you remain honest, but make them more palatable for the interviewer.
In the Discussion Board
Provide your personality test results.
Describe your opinion of your results.
Provide your original and revised 3 words.
Review and respond to the posts of at least
3 of your peers.
